I'll show you how you can create and customize your own 3ds Max Shortcuts. Although 3ds Max have already assigned default shortcut keys to a lot of its tools and commands, we can still override these settings or assign new shortcut keys to further enhance our work flow while working with 3ds Max.This is to compliment my last entry, 3ds Max Shortcuts.

To start with, choose (1)Customize in the Menu Bar and accessing (2)Customize User Interface... as shown on the image above.
The Customize User Interface Window will then show up. In here, you can access all the available tools and commands that 3ds Max has in its program and in which you can assign a shortcut key for them.
Let's try assigning a shortcut key to a command. Let's say we want to assign a shortcut key to the Group command. Look for the (3)Group command in the list presented on the Customize User Interface Window.

Type in the shortcut key you want to assign this command in the (4)Hotkey: entry. Let's try and type in G. Below the Hotkey entry, on the (5)Assigned to: section, we can see that the G shortcut key is already assigned to the Hide Grids Toggle Command.
Let's try another shortcut key. (6)Type in Ctrl + G in the Hotkey: entry. The (7)Assigned to: section tells us that this shortcut key is not assigned to any command yet. We then press the (8)Assign button to finally assign this shortcut key to the Group Command.
While you can assign and customize shortcut keys to most of the commands in 3ds max, sometimes even changing the default values assigned to some of the basic commands, there is still a way to reset these values back to the original and default shortcut keys.
Press the (9)Reset button to reset all values to its original and default values.
There you go, you can now define and customize shortcut keys to some of your favorite commands in 3ds Max by following the steps above.
