Our company was trying to cut down on expenses and was looking for alternatives to the very much popular Autodesk Autocad. The cost of one licensed full Autocad is very expensive that it's hard for our growing company to buy more of this software. Even if you opt to use its lighter and cheaper version which is Autocad LT, the price is still expensive and you don't get the full set of commands and tools that the full Autocad has. A friend of one of my officemates suggested a very interesting program as an alternative to Autocad and I want to share it with you.
ZWCAD is actually, as how I saw it the first time, a very good imitation of Autocad. I used the term imitation because it really is trying to imitate the look and feel of Autocad. Even the commands are the same. I don't know how the company got away with this but you can actually buy it and use it without any worries about its legality. The price is also a big plus for those architects or architectural students that don't have enough funds to buy the real Autocad. The price is just around 10% of the original Autocad price. They also have customer support on their website and patches and fixes from time to time to improve the software.
I've tried using it and it was really like using the real Autocad. Though I've experienced some bugs while I was using it, ZWCAD can completely replace Autocad for all the basic drawing requirements.
Below is a snapshot of the ZWCAD window where you would see its resemblance with the real Autocad.

ZWCAD website to learn more about this program.
