The Urban Forest will soon rise amongst the city skyline in Chongqing, China. Designed by MAD, this skyscraper was inspired from the mountainous landscapes of China. It consists of over 70 vertically stacked floors of curved and organic shapes which are connected by a central cylindrical core.
Its design succeeds in opening up the interior to the outside through its full
length glass windows creating a connection with the environment around it. Glass railings were used on all the wrap around
balconies on each floor making the skyscraper consistent of being transparent and gives the illusion of floating floors.
MAD architects are becoming known for its sustainable and green designs and this skyscraper may be one of those designs that will offer more in addition to the gardens and pools surrounding each floor.
