This is a basic tutorial of the Florence Design Academy to understand how to use the SPLINES effectively in the field of Interior/Furniture Design. This tutorial is based only on splines. It is very important that your chair has the correct dimensions, otherwise the rendering with Mental Ray will not be optimal. Let's begin our tutorial.

The January 2010 Philippine Architecture Board Exam is getting closer by the minute and I am sure that the examinees are already feeling the pressure.  They will be the first batch of examinees here in the Philippines that will take the Licensure Examination for Architects (LEA) with the non-drafting format scheme.  The exam will already take place this coming friday and sunday - January 15 and 17, 2010.

Good luck to all of those who will take the exam.

If you are a licensed Architect here in the Philippines, you'll eventually need to renew your PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) ID and Registration just like any other profession in the country.  This normally happens every three years on your birthday from your first registration with PRC.

Being registered in PRC means you are recognized as a professional which, in our case, as professional architects here in the Philippines.  This gives you the privilege to legally practice Architecture in the country.

So how do you renew you PRC ID and Registration?

It's really easy if you have the complete requirements.

German architects are not too excited with the recently opened Burj Khalifa, formerly known as Burj Dubai.  With the economic crisis now hovering over Dubai, it's no surprise that some architects would throw some unforgiving words about the current title holder for the world's tallest building.

Burj Dubai, renamed as Burj Khalifa in honor of the current president of the UAE, now currently holds the title for the world's tallest building in terms of the "height to architectural top".  At 2717 feet (828 meters) high, with 160 inhabitable floors, Burj Dubai or Burj Khalifa opened with a bang last Monday, 4th of January 2010.  The opening was filled with light shows, fireworks and a grand spectacle of water fountain display.  Watch the opening on the embedded video below.

Here's a design idea - How about turning a simple everyday object, such as a paper roll,  into a work of art, and using it as an accent piece in a room.

In this tutorial I will go through all the steps that we usually do when I'm asked to do an "exterior night-rendering".  In order to follow it you need to know the basics of 3ds max and vray.

Following the successful Foreign Licensure Examinations for Architects (FLEA) with the major subject of Architectural Design and Site Planning administered as a Non-Drafting examination by the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture (PRBoA) of the Philippines, they have released 10 sample questions from the said exams on their official website as a guide for future examinees of the Philippine Board of Architecture Licensure Examinations or the Licensure Examination for Architects held every 6 months each year.
