The world's first moving skyscraper is scheduled to finish construction by 2010. Designed by David Fisher, this skyscraper called the "Dynamic Architecture" and "Rotating Tower" would soon rise Dubai and set the standards for the next Dynamic Buildings in the future.
Each floor is separated from one another and can turn independently using voice recognition. This will give the user an ever-changing view of Dubai of 1 to 3 hours. Designed to be energy efficient and self sustainable, photovoltaic cells that were placed on the top surfaces of each floor will help give power to the building. Wind turbines were also placed horizontally between each floor and will behave like the vertical wind mills we see on the country side. It is said that it will generate enough power to power the Rotating Tower by itself and with no help from Dubai's power grid which will make this skyscraper a true sustainable building.
This tower will also be the first skyscraper that is constructed entirely from prefabricated parts. The parts are manufactured in Southern Italy by a team of around 600 and will be delivered on site and assembled by only around 80-90 personnel and workers. This would ultimately lower the construction cost and the time to finish down.
Other than in Dubai, this amazing concept of a tower is already being constructed in Moscow, Russia with the same capabilities and specifications designed by David Fisher and he is hoping that New York will be the next to be built with this same concept.
Below is a video of the original presentation for the Dynamic Architecture project by David Fisher.
