No, this is not a carton box and yes, this is actually a furniture. It's the "Karton Chair" designed by Florian Kallus. As you can see, this chair was indeed inspired from an open cardboard box or carton.
You might actually mistake this piece of furniture as an ordinary cardboard box with three flaps open when seen from behind. This chair does looks cozy enough to sit on and with the three flaps open, it seems to invite you to it and to try it out.
