Architecture School

architecture-school.jpgSo, you decided to take up architecture after a long and hard pondering from a list of career possibilities. And now you're on a hunt for a good architecture school.

There are dozens of architecture schools and universities in the country that offer the same curriculum, but what sets one from the other?

What should be your criteria for choosing a good architecture school? Other than the price of the tuition fee, what are other criteria you should compare with and look for when choosing a school or university?

In my opinion, here's my shortlist to a lot of criteria you should consider when looking for an architecture school:  (not in any order)

1. Location
It is beneficial if the school or university is located near where you're staying or living but you can always rent a house or apartment near the vicinity if there's no school near your place.

2. Student/Teacher Ratio
The less the student/teacher ratio is, the better.  Less number of students per class means a teacher or professor can monitor each student's performance better.  Classes can be easily controlled and moderated.

3. Facilities
Other than having a clean environment, that is both beneficial to ones wellness and study habits, a good architecture school should also have the latest equipments that conforms to today's technology and standards with regards with architecture and construction.

4. Passing Rate in LEA
The passing rate in LEA (Licensure Examination for Architects) or the Architecture Board Exams is one of the best criteria on choosing a good architecture school.  It gives you an overview idea of the schools that trains and produces good architecture graduates.  If a school got a high passing rate for its graduates on the Architecture Board Exams, it just shows that they're doing something right and that school may be your best bet.

There are a lot more criteria to ponder about but, in my opinion, these four are the most important.
