Oak wood was used for the seat because of how it ages beautifully, while the backrest is made from suede which displays traces of someone's touch.  Each material offers a sense of connection both emotional and physical with the user.  They embodies and make consistent the design intent of the designer.

The joining system was also designed to give the user room for interaction with the chairs.  Placing adjustment points offer the user the choice to modify the general feel of the chair.  This form of customization further emphasizes the designer's vision of making a bond between the user and the object through emotional connection.
