This all in one kitchen shelving is one of the eight finalists in the Electrolux Designlab 2010 competition.  The competition focuses on the living conditions of people in the year 2050, when it is predicted that a greater population would be living in compact spaces in an urban environment setting.  The winner would be announced by the 23rd of September 2010.

Called Elements Modular Kitchen, this all in one kitchen shelving is designed by Matthew Gilbride from the USA.  This is a wall mounted device which acts not only as shelving of kitchen wares but it can also have modes for cooking, refrigeration, air conditioning, and lighting.   This appliance runs electricity wirelessly applied through the walls.  Several units of this can be placed together to work simultaneously through wireless smart networking.  And since it can do a lot more than storing and containing kitchen wares, it would definitely save space as it can replace a lot of kitchen appliance that will no longer be needed.
