Early this year, the Greener Gadgets Conference held a competition that was focused on designing products and devices that are energy efficient and are environment friendly. One of the 18 Greener Gadgets Design Competition finalists is this energy generating chair that designer Ryan Klinger calls the Empower Chair.
Designed as a chair for the on the go travelers, it's suitable for airports, bus stations, train terminals, even cafes and other common areas where people sit and wait. Empower Chair harnesses the kinetic energy produced as users rock and swing the chair back and forth converting this into enough energy to power up your gadgets, mobile phones, and even your laptops while you wait.
Made from recyclable materials, this chair design concept would be a good start for more greener and energy efficient devices in the future.
