Littlehampton, West Sussex in Britain is home to possibly the Longest Bench in the world. Designed by Studio Weave, this bench can seat over 300 people and is approximately 324 meters in length. Part of a large waterfront redevelopment, this bench moves along specific points on the beach, adapting to the contour and its environment.

It consists of colorful wooden slats ranging from yellows to blues to greens which makes the bench more attractive as it twirls and swirls along its course.

The architects imagined this longest bench to be like a charm bracelet which enhances the town, accenting the beauty of the place.

The wooden slats of the bench came from reclaimed tropical hardwood. They have actaully allowed people to buy and personalize their own wooden slat as part of the funding for the project. They are hoping that this bench would extend up to 612 meters that would fit 800 people in the future.
