By the time we learned how to draw on paper, we have always relied on some of the basic writing tools such as a pencil and a pen to transmit our thoughts to paper. 

This is the solution for those people suffering of many sleepless nights or insomnia.  A modern bed designed by Kris Van den Berghe created as a graduate school design thesis project.

The Y Buildings, designed by Paul Kaloustian Architects, are located in the district of Ashrafieh, Beirut, Lebanon.  A very modern looking and attractive building, the Y Buildings stand like an art piece in the contemporary world.

"The Snail" is one of the eight finalists in the Electrolux Designlab 2010 competition.  The competition focuses on the living conditions of people in the year 2050, when it is predicted that a greater population would be living in compact spaces in an urban environment setting. The winner would be announced by the 23rd of September 2010.

Remodeling your living room or kitchen or any other part of your house can mean another penny to spend. However, redecorating and remodeling don't necessarily entail high cost of materials and services from a trained person or professional. Buying new furniture is not important. Electrolux, a provider of major home appliances, has organized a design competition for the year 2010.  The Electrolux Design Lab 2010, a worldwide competition, focuses on the future living conditions where more people are predicted to be living in compact spaces in an urban environment setting.  The industrial design students who were to compete were briefed on designing solutions for people living in the year 2050.

The competition is nearing its end and a winner is gonna be selected on the 23rd of September this year.  Out of the many entries that were passed, eight were chosen to compete for the final selection and a chance to win the Electrolux Design Lab 2010.  The eight entries will present their designs to four of the well respected designers of this time on the 23rd of September, at 100% Design, Earls Court, London.

I shall present all the eight finalists, one per day starting with "The Kitchen Hideaway".

The World's Largest Clock finally ticks for the first time last wednesday August 11, 2010 to signal the first day of the fasting month before Ramadan in Saudi Arabia.

How about an Alice in Wonderland inspired ring.  This is the creative work of H.Stern, a Brazilian jewelry brand, in partnership with Disney.  The ring is part of a collection of jewelry inspired by Tim Burton's movie "Alice in Wonderland".
