Architectural Visualization 3ds Max Tutorials #16: The Making of the AuditoriumArtist: Alex Roman

Modelling:
I started to build it from some initial blueprints. I couldn't find much info on it except for a very basic-stage simple plan and section. Thanks to this, I was able to add a few personal details. The whole main structure and individual elements are mirrored by a central axis, so I centered the modeling around just one of the symmetries.
Architectural Visualization 3ds Max Tutorials #15: Creating Furry Carpet with VrayFurArtist: Alex Mincinopschi

In this short tutorial I will show you a way of creating a carpet in 3ds max using vray fur. Before I begin, I need to say that you need to use vray fur ONLY when you absolutely need it (when the camera is really close to that specific object that the vray fur is applied to, or if you need to render at a very high resolution); if not using vray displacement is the way to go. If you decide that you need that you need a very high level of detail in your rendering, than be prepared for higher rendering times.
Here is an amazing CG video created by Alex Roman, showing architecture in a very artistic way. I am now a fan of his because of this work that he did.
Everything was produced by Alex Roman. This includes the modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering, and the post production and music mixing.

Architecture is simply defined, in most English dictionaries, as 'the art and science of designing structures or buildings' but, as I found out working as a professional architect for some time, that architecture is broader than how it is simply defined. Most people when they think of architecture would think of houses, buildings, architects working on drawings, structural columns and beams, mouldings, cornices and the like. Well, that's what I also thought before of architecture when I was still a student, until I graduated and entered the real world and did real projects. And then I got to see the other side of architecture and experience a deeper understanding of what my profession really is about.

I want to share my workflow in Creating A Water Fountain in 3dMax Particle System
1. Download the scene file scene_files.zip.
If you havent you can create your own model for the fountain source. Any model will do. To start set some 3d max parameters just like the following: set the units to meter, and the renderer to scan line ( for the meantime we will use scan line because we will do some series of test render.)
Architectural Visualization 3ds Max Tutorials #13: Chair Modeling (Spline Technique)Artist: Florence Design Academy
Posted in: CGDigest
This is a basic tutorial of the Florence Design Academy to understand how to use the SPLINES effectively in the field of Interior/Furniture Design. This tutorial is based only on splines. It is very important that your chair has the correct dimensions, otherwise the rendering with Mental Ray will not be optimal. Let's begin our tutorial.
