The Kinetic Sculpture created by ART+COM, a digital media design agency in Berlin, Germany, for the BMW Museum in Munich, Germany, is made up of 714 metal spheres individually hanged from a thin steel wire.  These spheres are able to move individually vertically by a special mechanism which can be moved in unison to create amazing sculptures in mid air.

Bubble Gum Table and Bench Set

Here's an interesting concept of a table and bench design by French designer Florent Degourc.  This table and bench set which he calls the "Smooth and Smoothie" looks like two large melted bubble gum dripping onto the floor.

The Piano Table by Georg Bohle

The Piano Table, designed by Georg Bohle, is a furniture built for the urban setting where physical space is limited to the basic essentials.

Musicians and pianists alike who live in small tight urban spaces would definitely love the idea of saving space while having two functional furniture in one, a dining table and a piano.

Furniture Design: 5 Random Transforming and Convertible Furnitures 01

convertible-table-design-01.jpg

I'm really fond of transforming and convertible furnitures, especially those you wouldn't expect to be one.  Not only do they look cool, they also remind me of my robot toys I fondly play with when I was younger.  So, I shall be sharing a list every now and then of these kind of furnitures that I find.  And so, to start with, here's a list of 5 random transforming and convertible furnitures I found on the net.

Ugly Furniture

Ugly furnitures, anyone?  If you don't know what ugly furnitures look like, watch the video below so that you'll be properly educated.  Hehe.

This is just for your viewing pleasure.  I found this funny video on the net and thought I'd share it here.

Now you know what furnitures you should look out for.

I've actually seen this piece of furniture before and it still amazes me every time I see it again.  It's called the "Flexible Love".  A flexible chair that can be expanded and compressed to any length.

Buff Out and Remove Dents in Wooden Furnitures

Here's a trick from Apartment Therapy's Home Hacks 2010 on removing or covering up dents and dings in wooden furnitures.  I haven't tried this one yet but this looks very interesting and I might try this just to satisfy my curiosity.

With just a piece of walnut, you can cover up small dents and scrapes in any wooden furniture.  If you are a vintage furniture collector or restorer, add this to your bag of tricks.

Below are the exact instructions from the article.

Furniture Design: La Bande by Sarah Lovgren

la-bande-furniture-01.jpg

Designed by Sarah Lovgren, a German product designer, this elegant looking and modern sculptural furniture can be shifted and moved around to change it from a basic seat to a recliner or vice versa.

Any dynamic furniture just like this one would really be fun to use.  And because of its unique and artistic design, this may also be doubled as an accent piece to any interior design project; an elegant looking art and a functional furniture at the same time.  I myself would love to have this on my living room or my bedroom for my personal use.

Funiture Design: Radially Expanding Tables by David Fletcher

before-after-teak-furniture.jpg

Here's an innovative furniture design I have stumbled upon on the net.

Shown on the image above are two teak furniture, one is smaller than the other.  But, as I have labeled underneath each image, the table on the right is an after image of the table on the left after doubling its circumference.  This is the Capstan Table, a radially expanding table, designed by David Fletcher.
