The Pen That Never Runs Out Of Ink

metal-pen-lead-00.jpgBy the time we learned how to draw on paper, we have always relied on some of the basic writing tools such as a pencil and a pen to transmit our thoughts to paper.

If not all, most people around the world uses pencil or pen as a writing device.  Artists, designers and architects use pencil to draw, sketch and make their masterpieces, while office workers, students, and writers uses ink and pen to write down their thoughts in words on paper.

The pencil or the pen has become a necessity which people uses everyday. This is the reason why artists buy enough pencils so that every time they exhaust one pencil, they have another one to use, and offices buy enough pens to replace those with no more ink.

Now, what if there is a writing tool that would never run out of ink and will virtually last forever?  This would definitely beat buying loads of pen and pencil supplies that would take up space on your storage areas.

wood-furniture-walnut-fix-01.jpg

Here's a trick from Apartment Therapy's Home Hacks 2010 on removing or covering up dents and dings in wooden furnitures.  I haven't tried this one yet but this looks very interesting and I might try this just to satisfy my curiosity.

With just a piece of walnut, you can cover up small dents and scrapes in any wooden furniture.  If you are a vintage furniture collector or restorer, add this to your bag of tricks.

Below are the exact instructions from the article.

The tape measure, is a tool most commonly used for simply measuring things.  That's what we were taught in school but, little do we know that some people out there found other creative uses for this little tool called the tape measure.

9-1101.jpgNew pictures of the World Trade Center terror attack on Sept. 11, 2001 were released to the public.  ABC News obtained these photos after filing for a Freedom of Information Act request last year with the National Institute of Standards and Technology, who investigated the collapse of the towers.

These photos were taken by ex-NYPD Aviation Unit Detective Greg Semendinger from a police helicopter searching for survivors on the rooftops.

The Architect's Song

This is a revised lyrics of the song "I Will Survive" rewritten to describe some of the funny moments an architect faces in his career that was shared to me by my good friend "small mike" in Facebook.  If you're an architect, you will definitely relate to the lyrics of this song.  If someone out there knows the author of the lyrics to this song, please do tell us so we can properly credit him for this.

Now, to the tune of "I Will Survive", let's all sing The Architect's Song!

This of course only shows the tip of the iceberg in the kinds of troubles an architect faces in his career, but this does show, in a very funny way, that architects are real survivors in their own right.

If you can't see the image above, see the text below for the lyrics.

Vanishing Point by Bonsajo

This video by Bonsajo on vimeo reminds me of me being an architect and how the title "vanishing point" relates to what I do in my profession.  Architects create perspectives or rendered images that represent his or her ideas and clearly show and relate them to other people through these images.  In the process of making these perspectives, manual perspectives for that matter, the "vanishing points" are mostly used to accurately plot the images to scale and proportion.

This video has nothing to do with the "vanishing point" being used for any architectural purpose but it is quite interesting to watch.
