Amazing 3D CG Character Models

With the technology that is available today and the vast list of available 3d softwares available in the market, it is very possible to create realistic environments where our imagination is our only limit, creating creatures and objects that thrive in those computer generated surroundings.  Creating these 3d models and sculptures using the computer requires talent and skill.  It also involves practice and a lot of patience to further perfect the art.

Hongkiat created a list of 21 realistic 3d character models found on the net.  Below are 10 of the 3d CG (Computer Generated) Character Models from that list that really stood out for me.

If you think Sketchup is a less superior 3d modeling and rendering software, well think again.  I was one of those who saw Sketchup as just a simple 3d modeling program whose ability is only limited to the basic shapes and forms and does not compete to the more complex and versatile 3d modeling and rendering softwares like 3ds Max or Maya.  And then I saw this image by Jacques or "silver_shadow" posted in the sketchucation forums and it changed my views on Sketchup instantly.

Modelling:

I started to build it from some initial blueprints. I couldn't find much info on it except for a very basic-stage simple plan and section. Thanks to this, I was able to add a few personal details. The whole main structure and individual elements are mirrored by a central axis, so I centered the modeling around just one of the symmetries.

The Third & The Seventh by Alex Roman

Here is an amazing CG video created by Alex Roman, showing architecture in a very artistic way.  I am now a fan of his because of this work that he did.

Everything was produced by Alex Roman.  This includes the modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering, and the post production and music mixing.

I want to share my workflow in Creating A Water Fountain in 3dMax Particle System

1. Download the scene file scene_files.zip.

If you havent you can create your own model for the fountain source. Any model will do. To start set some 3d max parameters just like the following: set the units to meter, and the renderer to scan line ( for the meantime we will use scan line because we will do some series of test render.)
